Claire’s Kimberley Collection

Claire’s Kimberley Collection

My Mother Claire Howard, affectionately referred to as Mumma was a passionate loving soul, adding an artistic flare to everything she touched. Claire’s strong affinity with nature and her preference to ‘be out there in it’ are at the core of her essence.

A student of The Fine Arts, Claire became a Printmaker, etching and drawing into metal, these images reflect a rich love of the world around her. I’ve always found my Mumma’s art to be emotive, strong and alive with form, seeing her capturing the spirit of nature in beautiful line work.

Claire’s love of nature, of flowers, plants, growing in the native landscape, the aesthetic beauty of contrast or the marriage of colour, form, structures, unique traits and outstanding characteristics have been imprinted on my personality. Claire’s love and passion for the world, is a legacy my Mumma has gifted me with.

As she is now no longer with us, I have been given the opportunity with my family, her Husband Wayne (An Artist and student of the Fine Arts like Claire) and my siblings Tjalkalyiri (Goldsmith), Wilyarti (Computer engineer) and Lesley-Claire (Architect) to bring to life in her memory and a celebration of life; Claire’s Kimberley Collection.

A Collection showcasing extractions from Claire’s etchings and artworks of the wild and rugged Kimberley, in a medium I feel at home in, precious metals. The pieces are bold and elegant in a combination of sterling silver, rose and yellow gold.

The first release is of Claire’s Kimberley collection is The Kimberley Boab.
